Purolator is one of the top national shipping companies here in Canada. So when I received an email via my contact form asking me to complete work for them - I honestly thought it was another scam. I don’t know about you — but I get a lot of scam emails and calls!

I originally created this helpful set of “Design Tips for Non-Designers” as content for my social feeds! Here they are all in one place for your perusal. Design tips are (sort of) subjective and rules are meant to be broken. So if you strongly disagree with any of my suggestions, feel free to do as you like! Make that logo bigger.
Why do you need a logo?
Your logo is the staple of your brand. It lets your customers know what to expect before they even speak directly to you or your employees. So you need to make some serious decisions about who you are and how you want to be perceived. Because as much as we preach “Don’t judge a book by its cover” – WE DO! Everyone does and your logo is your book cover.
2nd Annual Dotgain Conference
On Friday, November 2nd I attended the 2nd Annual Dotgain Conference held at Holland College in the Florence Simmons Theatre. This year Jud Haynes of Newfoundland was the headliner and blew attendees away with his story, work examples, and client list.
DesignThinkers TO: Day Two
I just saw Michael Bierut speak on the main stage at the Sony Entertainment Centre in Toronto, Canada. Michael is a partner at Pentagon, a design firm in the US consisting of 22 partners. He has worked on some large campaigns, but the one I was most interested to hear about was the heavily criticized but delightfully simple, Hillary Clinton logo.
